Why should I choose Faux Paws for my pet?
What are your hours?
Does Mobile…? Yes, we are a full working salon on wheels. Yes, we do all breeds of dogs and cats. Yes, you can save money with a maintenance plan. Yes, we work on Saturdays. Yes, we take Cash, Check, Master Card, Visa and Discover. Yes, we brush teeth, give aqua-massage, paint nails and more. Yes, we service all of Seminole and most of Orange Counties.
Do you do Anal Glands and what are they? Yes, we do anal glands. Anal Glands or Anal Sacs are pockets on either side of the rectum that fill with fluid. This fluid can become infected, irritated or impacted if not released. Many dogs (especially large breeds) can excrete their anal glands their self and others need it done for them. You may see you dog chew at his back or do the butt scoot, this is their way of letting you know they are full.
Are You A Purrfectionist? Okay, some may call us snobs or “purr”fectionist, in our desire to have the greatest and latest products. Some may make comments that having the best equipment doesn’t make you the best… No, but it sure helps. The grooming industry is constantly changing and we are realizing safer and more stress free ways to groom your pet. Sometimes Better is Better.
What Kind Of Licensing Do You Have? There is no licensing for groomers. Anyone can buy cheap clippers and open a business. But, at Faux Paws we support the three Nationally Recognized Dog Grooming Organizations: NDGAA (National Dog Groomers Association of America), IPG (International Pet Groomers) and ISCC (International Society for Canine Cosmetology) and both Cat Grooming Organizations PCGAA (Professional Cat Groomers Association of America) and the NCGAA (National Cat Groomers Association of America). These organizations have strict guidelines and years of testing - we take our PROFESSION seriously.
How do I know my pet is safe? In the United States Pets are considered Chattel. In Florida, pets have a legal value of $400 (this is the worth that your pet is valued at in the State's eyes). First let me say "yeah, right- My Gracy is priceless". Make sure that you TRUST your groomer. Our Mobile Salons come to you, you can view us anytime and all of the time.
Why is Faux Paws a great decision for my pet? Just like humans, pets get old, pets have seizures, pets get stressed. All Faux Paws employees are certified and retested every 2 years in Canine and Feline First Aid and CPR. Because of this knowledge a very old Shepherd mix named Horatio lived 2 more years. Horatio was a love but suffered from seizures. One day while he was laying around getting his monthly groom he began to convulse and after wards stopped breathing. With quick reaction we immediately began compressions and breaths and Horatio was back and went home to live 2 more joyous years with his parents.
Things Change Your groomer should pay attention to your pet, should know your pet and help you stay informed. At Faux Paws your groomer is the one who bathes, dries, grooms and plays with your pet. We know your pet, we will let you know if we EVER see anything different or find anything that may be of concern. Although we love our clients we are TRULY here for your pets.
